With the ground apparently shifting and the bond breaking between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, more should be expected in the near future.
DP Ruto's allies have been in the front line in noisemaking regarding what appears to be a looming divorce between the two camps, a situation promising to only intensify.
The allies should prepare for more and more surprises, including more clear acts of betrayal with regards to the said agreement between DP Ruto and Uhuru before the 2013 polls.
With Uhuru's forces coming out to make contradicting remarks lately, the president's side might soon make it clear that it will not support Ruto's 2022 bid, confirming the suspicions.
And with indications pointing at a possible upcoming mega alliance between the nation's top leaders, it appears that Ruto might with time end up isolated.
This follows Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe's remarks in Vihiga that the Uhuru side of the party might team up with Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi for the race.
After the Sundays' declaration, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, opposition leader Raila Odinga and Mudavadi would then meet in Ugenya, Siaya, to work on a possible alliance.
This points at an upcoming mega alliance that might land the DP in trouble.
This will most likely lead to his loss in the poll, landing him and his allies in the opposition after close to ten years in government.
Should anything of the sort happen to him, the blame will land on his allies who have been attacking other leaders, especially the opposition brigade, hence his isolation.
Therefore, his lieutenants are set for trouble should he lose out and will be giving their all towards ensuring that he regains the footing he seems to be losing.
