Moureen Kerubo was escaping arrest by community policing officers in Sarate, North Kitutu in Nyamira County on Wednesday she fell into the toilet.

According to eyewitnesses, Kerubo was running really quick when she fell into the latrine.

"Kerubo was escaping arrest by community policing who raided a chang'aa den where she was consuming chang'aa when she fell into the pit latrine that is being dug few meters away from the chang'aa den," said a witness Margaret Bosibori.

Ms Bosibori said members of the public who heard the victim crying in pain from the pit latrine rescued her.

Nyamira OCPD Lilis Wachira confirmed the incident and said Kerubo was rushed to Nyamira County hospital where she is being treated.

"She sustained injuries on her limbs and had a fracture on her left leg. The public took her to the hospital where she is receiving treatment," said Wachira.

The OCPD warned residents against making, selling, distribution and consumption of illicit brews.

Wachira urged local chiefs with the help of Nyumba Kumi officials to intensify the crackdown on illicit brew dealers.
