A goat died after it was stung by bees in what locals suspect to be witchcraft at Omokorindo in Nyamira on Friday.
Witnesses said the goat was tied at a nearby roadside bush for grazing when the bees stung it to dead.
“The goat couldn’t survive because the bees attacked it as residents feared approaching near to rescue the goat. We did not see where bees came from,” said Philip Nyakang’i.
Clinton Motari, the owner of the goat said his neighbor threatened to kill the goat when it trespassed to his farm.
“My son took the goat to graze when it trespassed to my neighbor's farm. He threatened to kill the goat and now he has managed to kill it but i leave everything to God,” he said.
Erick Ntabo, area chief confirmed the incident and urged locals to ensure their livestock is safe whenever they are away.
Ntabo called on residents to stop being jealous to each other.
