Isiolo Governor Mohammed Kuti survived a scare of his life on Friday after a chopper carrying him made an emergency landing in Nyeri, reports the Nation.

The pilot landed in Kiangoma village in Mukurwe-ini with Kuti, Isiolo North MP Hassan Oda and Isiolo South MP Abdi Koropu on board.

Area police boss Issa Muhammud said the pilot of the helicopter decided to make the emergency landing due to bad weather.

The three leaders, who escaped unhurt, are set to join Deputy President William Ruto in Mogodashe for a fund-drive.

Reports indicate that the later left the scene using vehicles. Mr. Kuti, a former NHIF chairman, is a close ally of DP Ruto.

Last month, a plane carrying ten people crashed in the Abaerdares in what preliminary investigations showed that it was as a result of bad weather.
