A team of medical doctors and health specialists in various fields have opened a new state of the art hospital in Lanet, Nakuru County.
Nakuru Specialist Hospital was opened in a bid to improve healthcare and ensure Nakuru residents get quality health services.
Dr Felix Atisa who is the chairman of the hospital board and is a gynaecologist expressed confidence in the facility’s ability to offer services to the public.
He said the 13 medical professionals have so far spent more than Sh40 million to set up the 90-bed capacity hospital that has 20 private rooms.
“This is not an ordinary hospital, so far we have injected more than Sh40 million and by the time it is fully operational, we shall have spent about Sh500 million,” said Dr Atisa as quoted by Daily Nation.
He said that the hospital boasts of having specialists that include surgeons, dentists, paediatricians, orthopaedics, ear, nose and throat specialists, and general practitioners among other others.
Dr Atisa added that the hospital has two theatres which are equipped with modern machines as well as its radiography department that has modern x-ray machines.
“What is so unique about this hospital is that apart from modern equipment, our team of doctors will be available round the clock and patients will not be referred elsewhere,” he noted.
The hospital is expected to create more job opportunities for Nakuru residents as it looks to hire more workers when it becomes fully operational.
