Just a fortnight after revealing about secret MOU with Raila Odinga, DP William Ruto has yet again made another confession over 2013 elections.

At Kakamega, Ruto said Raila had promised to create a Prime Minister position for him but would later take it during grand coalition government.

For the first time, Ruto has conceded that his marriage with President Uhuru Kenyatta was 'not issue based and heavily relied of ICC cases'.

“Our win in 2013 General Election was based on the emotive issue of the ICC cases. But in 2017, we changed the narrative and that caught our opponents by surprise. They could not challenge us on the development," he said.

He added: "When we talked about the Standard Gauge Railway it was there for the Kenyans to see, so did the household electricity connection."

In one of the unlikeliest moves, Ruto would join Uhuru as the two faced ICC monster over crimes against humanity.

The two were cleared in 2015 and would later run against Raila Odinga successfully last year in an election that was protracted following court litigations.

With Raila Odinga now working closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Ruto's 2022 chances could yet again face unforseen challenges.
