DP Ruto has made it clear that he will be going for the top seat while Senator Moi is yet to publicly declare his 2022 ambitions. However, Moi's lieutenants have on several occasions hinted that he will be going for the seat.

The man from Sugoi is determined to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta after being his deputy for ten years. He is already attracting opinion makers and leaders of different regions.

Here is a list of Rift Valley leaders who will play a major role in DP Ruto’s quest for the presidency;

Isaac Ruto

The Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader has not been in good terms with his namesake, DP Ruto, but their recent meeting at Bomet County is a clear indication that something is cooking between the two political veterans. The former governor has publicly agreed to work with the Deputy President head of 2022.

Jackson Mandago

Mandago will not be defending his seat as the Uasin Gshu governor in the coming elections and hence his leadership qualities and the high political game will automatically earn him a major role in DP Ruto’s campaign team.

Kipchumba Murkomen

It is not yet clear whether the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator will be going for re-election or is eyeing the gubernatorial seat. However, the Senate Majority leader has made it clear that his aim is to ensure DP Ruto rises to the highest seat in the country. He will definitely have a special place in the 'hustlers' 2022 campaign team.

Oscar Sudi

He is currently DP Ruto’s right-hand man in Uasin Gishu. The Kapseret MP has been speaking and responding to allegations and claims directed to DP Ruto and this will definitely be his role to the end.
