The brutal murder of a middle-aged man in a village in Murang’a has left the entire village shocked.The man was murdered by his wife in a manner most gruesome on Friday.
According to the suspect’s confession, she used a hammer, a panga and an axe to pluck the life out of her husband of three children.
She reportedly told angry villagers that she hammered her husband to unconsciousness before using an axe and a panga to chop the body.
Described as ‘wife from hell’ by villagers, the woman said after the committed the heinous act she dragged the body outside and burnt it.
“Were it not by chance that the late man’s brother saw her digging the grave, this beastly act would have been well covered up,” Maina King’ori, a neighbor said.
According to King’ori, the late’s brother became curious when he saw the suspect digging a hole at the back of the house early Saturday morning.
“He was the woman scooping soil from the hole.
This was after a huge smoke was seen in the compound. The brother got curious and that is when he saw the woman drag the remains of the body to bury them,” another resident, who declined to be named, said.
Murang’a County Police Commander Josphat Kinyua confirmed the murder.
“We have arrested the suspect and her three children who are alleged to have murdered their father and commenced. I urge spouses to employ legal mechanisms to solve their marital issues instead of killing each other,” Kinyua said.
