Scores of recovering drug addiction patients were recently left stranded at the Ngara Methadone Clinic after the medics refused to open the facility following a theft which occurred at the clinic at the weekend.
According to the patients, one of them stole a methadone doze during a power outage at the clinic.
“The addict who stole the doze did it because the clinic attendant was taking too long to sort out the inconvenience brought about by the power black out and funny enough he is one of the addicts stranded outside the clinic today,” said Elvis Munyao, one of the recovering patients.
It is reported that some of the patients collapsed outside of the facility as a result of lacking the daily Methadone dose.
