Controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria may have after all dumped Deputy President William Ruto if his latest remarks is anything to go by.
For the last two weeks, the vocal legislator has struggled to win confidence of the president after going viral against him over development on the eve of the New Year.
In an interview at Inooro TV, Kuria, who has been jointly opposition expansion of executive along with Dr Ruto, has made a U-turn, perhaps an indication that he's no longer interested in the latter's team.
"Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has called for the expansion of the executive to include the position of Prime Minister and two Deputy Prime Ministers saying this will ensure we don’t have only two tribes leading the country," posted popular blogger Pauline Njoroge. https://twitter.com/paulinenjoroge/status/1082578397086318592?s=19
Mr Kuria has been a key figure in Ruto's Mt Kenya region campaigns and has been pushing for reduction of executive posts through his popular 'Punguza Mzigo' campaigns which had attracted Ruto's support.
On Monday, sources claimed that Mr Kuria along with his Kiharu counterpart Ndindi Nyoro were chased from Weston Hotel where Ruto's team had convened for strategy meeting.
"I don't want to discuss that but we are interested with loyalists. We are organising a team that will work to get results. We can't allow people to spy on us," David Mokaya, an aide to Ruto said without directly confirming the incident.
Mr Kuria is also said to be scared of a possible entry of Mr Muhoho Kenyatta, a son to President Uhuru Kenyatta in Gatundu South Parliamentary race.
In his previous outings, Ruto has opposed what he calls a 'plot to expand the executive through introduction of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister posts', which Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta are said to be keen with.
