Deputy President William Ruto is beatable, Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has said.
Speaking on Citizen’s JKL Live show on Wednesday, Mutua promised to give Ruto a run for his money when that time comes.
He said that he will not be contesting for the nation’s top seat as a "joke but because he wants to win at the end of the day.“
"If you see me on the ballot in 2022, which I plan to be, it will mean that I am winning; it will mean that I will win, I don’t go into things blindly,” he said.
Mutua, who doubles up as the Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement leader said that he doesn’t want Ruto to be impeached so that they can compete in a free and fair manner when that time comes.
He noted that the Ruto is not a threat to his candidature.
Mutua also said that he doesn’t want to rise to power to make wealth as many leaders have been doing.
He also said that he is hopeful of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's support in 2022.
