Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has now given a warning to tax defaulters in the county.
Speaking on Thursday, the governor said that the county would not sit and wait as business people default paying the legally prescribed fees.
"As we strive to make sure the Nairobi City County Government meets its target in terms of revenue collection, my administration is appealing to rate defaulters to comply with an earlier notice to clear their arrears," he said.
The governor also reminded owners of buildings in the county to paint them according to an earlier directive.
"Building owners in Nairobi’s Central Business District are also required to repaint their buildings as directed earlier by the County Government," he added.
