Outgoing Jubilee Party Vice Chair David Murathe has maintained that Deputy President William Ruto will have to device other ways of getting the Mt Kenya vote in 2022.
Speaking when he resigned from the post on Sunday, Murathe maintained that the region through its leader President Uhuru Kenyatta did not strike any deal to back Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
He rubbished claims from Ruto sympathizers that he (Ruto) and Uhuru signed a pact compelling Central Kenya to back Ruto in exchange for his support for Uhuru's successful 2013 and 2017 bids.
The former Gatanga lawmaker dared the people insisting that there is such a Memorandum of Understanding to produce it to clear the air.
"MoUs are public documents, and today I want to dare those that say there exists such a thing between Ruto and the president to produce it,” he was quoted by the Nation.
He maintained that his anti-Ruto moves do not have any ill motives, but to prevent a possible conflict between involved parties come 2022.
" I am taking this position to help avoid problems in 2022," he added.
But according to forces allied to the DP, the latter is trying to sow division within the party.
