For months now, conspiracy theories have emerged with some claiming that Raila is a special envoy in Jubilee administration.

In an interview with BBC, Uhuru downplayed suspicions that he had offered Raila a job adding that he's only a 'development partner'.

“Why should we create any new position? We work in the purview of the Constitution. But we can partner in terms of development,” he argued.

Lately, Raila has been receiving high profile treatment when traveling out of the country and represented Kenya in South Sudan crisis.

At an interview with Citizen TV, Raila insisted that he is a stranger in government.

"I am not in government. We are only partnering to find a solution on issues that have affected this country."

His handshake with Uhuru has triggered discomfort in Jubilee with DP William Ruto's allies claiming that it targets to block his ascendancy to power.
