A widow is in pain after her house was burnt by unknown people after having a conflict with a neighbour, who she suspects must have conspired the whole ordeal.
The widow, Teresia Kwamboka Gekonge from Ekemuga village in Bogeche, Amabuko, Nyaribari Masaba Constituency says there was an existing conflict between her family and a neighbour's.
She, however, told journalists on Tuesday that the issue was addressed and she thought that their differences were ironed out until on Monday night when the incident happened.
Kwamboka narrated that she saw many people with torches carrying crude weapons who later torched her house. She, however, managed to escape with bruises.
"We had a conflict with our neighbour. We talked over the problem and ironed out the differences. During the burial of my husband, we asked the police to protect us during the night till the following day when the burial was programmed. We thought the problem was solved,” she noted.
"However on Monday night at around 12.00 midnight, I saw many people approaching carrying torches and crude weapons. They sprinkled petrol on the house, broke some window panes and sprinkled it inside the house. I managed to escape, however, with bruises,” added the widow.
Kwamboka is now asking for help from relevant authorities, to bring peace and help her live happily in her home where she was legally married to, by her late husband.
