The vocal MP warned that taking a different route can only yield a political disaster for Mt Kenya voters.

Speaking on Sunday during a church function at Igembe South in Meru County, Kuria noted that the widening political rift between Mt Kenya politicians allied to Team 'Tanga Tanga' and Team 'Kielewek'e was not doing the GEMA communities any good.

Team 'Tanga Tanga' supports Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid while the 'Kieleweke' faction of the Jubilee party says the region owes Ruto nothing come 2022.

As a result, the controversial MP named six leaders drawn from Gikuyu, Embu and Meru communities whom he described as sober and best positioned to bring the two rival camps together.

The six include Governor Kiraitu Murungi and CS Peter Munya from Meru, Speaker Justin Muturi and Senator Njeru Ndwiga from Embu while former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and Nyandarua Senator Mwangi Githiomi will represent the Kikuyus.

"We want these six men to sit with us youthful politicians aligned to either 'Tanga Tanga' or 'Kieleweke' camps and bring our GEMA house together. We do not want to be seen as people who do not know where they are headed to," Kuria said in a video shared on social media.

"If the current status quo remains, we will be eaten from the pocket like peanuts. Eventually, we will be left alone stranded after giving out both the bread and the bakery," he added.

The MP states that before the three communities can decide on who to support for the presidency come 2022, they have to ensure that their candidate of choice looks into their interests.

"The Mt Kenya voting block must be seen to lead the way and not have the bridegroom marrying our daughter dictating to us on what to do," said Kuria.
