He noted that the County Government of Kilifi is working closely with the national government to realign its strategies and revamp the tourism industry in Kilifi County to tackle unemployment.

Kingi was speaking when the County Government of Kilifi partnered with the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife and work on developing the Malindi Beach Integrated project which will see the setting up of a water front from the Sabaki River to the Vasco da Gama pillar.

While meeting Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala, Kingi said "the water front will have a food court, marine museum, a cultural village and an amphitheater as well as other public amenities. This will greatly improve our tourism industry and boost our economy."

He also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the state department of Housing, Urban Development and Public Works which will see Kilifi County become one of the 29 Counties earmarked for the execution of the affordable housing programme under the Big Four Agenda.

Malindi town will receive Sh40 million for the implementation of low cost housing.

Kingi hosted Balala for a consultative meeting together with Wildlife PS Dr. Margaret Mwakima and Housing PS Charles Hinga at his office on Friday.
