Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris was caught up in a dramatic scene on Tuesday when disorderly youths, most on boda boda chased away her convoy.
Passaris had been warned by the youths that if she does not serve them handouts after the event, they will unleash terror on her.
The first-time Nairobi leader gave a deaf ear to the threats and went ahead to attend a Civic Education event hosted at Dagoretti North.
However, just after the event, the youths who seemed to live up to their promise started chasing her immediately she boarded her vehicle.
The focused youths who rode on motorcycles chased her convoy all the way to the city but Passaris escaped narrowly without being hurt.
Ms Passasris who posted on her Twitter account appealed to the Kenyan youth to move away from handouts mentally.
"On my way out, the rowdy youths hoped on bodabodas, three to four on each, and chased my car all in the way into the City in a large convoy that posed danger to other road users," narrated Passaris.
"It's high time we address the culture of handouts and its long-term effects on our youth," she added.
