Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Boss Shollei has roughed up the claims of impeaching the Deputy President William Ruto by the Senate Minority leader James Orengo stating that talking anyhow does not amount to action.
Speaking during the daybreak show at Citizen TV on Tuesday morning, the former Chief Registrar of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) stated that it is not a walk on the park impeaching the William Ruto as the law is very complex on the grounds and process of impeaching the Head of State or his Deputy.
"It is not easy to impeach a Deputy President. There should be solid grounds and numbers to move such a motion, not just statements made during funerals," she said.
Boss Shollei's comments come barely two days after the Siaya Senator vowed to kick out the Ruto on the breach of the constitution and going contrary to Chapter six of the Constitution on leadership and Integrity.
To impeach the Deputy President, a member of Parliament requires one-third of the members of Parliament signatures to move the motion while passing such a motion requires two-thirds of the Members of Parliament to support in order for the impeachment to succeed.
The debate has seen leaders and politicians give varied opinions on the move by the veteran politician and senior counsel others terming it as a witch hunt aimed at tainting Ruto's name.
