An MP allied to the opposition party, ODM has promised to 'deal' with Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen for over what he termed insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga.
Caleb Hamisi (Saboti, ODM) on Sunday said it was wrong for Murkomen to attack the two leaders over the recent Mau evictions saying he would punish the Senate Majority leader in Parliament.
Hamisi said he has kicked off plans for Murkomen's impeachment to ensure he starts respecting the President and Raila.
Murkomen has been under pressure to apologise to Uhuru and Raila for linking the two to the Mau Forest evictions.
He said last week that the eviction plans were mooted after the famous golden handshake between Uhuru and Raila.
"I will move a motion in Parliament to the effect that Murkomen does not deserve to be a leader. I will also move a motion that no elected leader should be arrested over whatever charges but should present themselves before courts of law," the MP who was speaking at Madende Catholic Church in Busia said.
The lawmaker spoke as it emerged on Monday that a section of Jubilee-allied politicians met in Nairobi on Sunday to organise plans to strip Murkomen off his role as the Senate Majority leader.
Uhuru is said to have told the MPs to abandon the plan.
