Former Ikolomani MP Boni Khalwale has named the man he says is keen on ensuring Ford Kenya and Amani National Congress parties merge before the 2022 general election.
Khalwale who is also former Kakamega Senator said university lecturer and re-known journalist as well as publishing editor Barack Muluka is working closely with him to make sure the two parties with a majority following in the former Western province merge to form one formidable political force before 2022 knocks.
"Barack Muluka is on top of it and he is working with me. You know he represents the ANC party and I represent Ford Kenya. We are not turning back," Khalwale said during an interview with Radio Maisha on Wednesday.
He said calls to strengthen the opposition NASA coalition won't materialize because he is convinced leaders from the ODM wing of the coalition do not see those from ANC, Ford Kenya and Wiper parties as equal partners.
Calls to disband NASA started following the ouster of Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula from his prestigious Senate Minority position and replaced by his Siaya counterpart James Orengo.
Ford Kenya squarely blames opposition leader Raila Odinga and the ODM party for Wetangula's troubles. The Bungoma Senator has announced plans to vie for the presidency in 2022.
