A middle-aged man has been nabbed for stabbing to death his friend at Mutumo village in Kitui County.
Mutumo Police Commander Benson Wasike said the suspect stabbed the deceased several times on the chest killing him on the spot.
Wasike said a quarrel ensued between the two on Wednesday evening when the deceased went to ask for his money.
He said the suspect stabbed the deceased using a kitchen knife.
“We have the suspect at our custody and will arraign him in court to plead to murder charges once investigations are complete,” Wasike said.
The deceased body was removed to Mutomo mortuary for postmortem.
Wasike decried increased murder cases in the area.
He said most of the deaths were arising from petty issues.
Wasike told the residents to peacefully co-exist.
