Taita Sub-county which is also Wundanyi constituency, is the most improved sub-county in Taita Taveta County in the recently released KCPE results.
Area MP Danson Mwashako said the constituency registered the highest improvement after recording a mean score of 14.79, beating Mwatate Sub-county which recorded a 4.753 mean score, Voi Sub-county which recorded a 1.99 mean score and finally Taveta Sub-county which had a 1.65 mean score.
In the previous years, Mwashako said Wundanyi consistently has been last and commended the teaching fraternity, parents and both education stakeholders including the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for their immense support.
He cited the Boresha Matokeo Initiative which has had several approaches ranging from stakeholders engagements, parents meetings, headteachers commitments, mentorship, exposure trips for students, benchmarking visits, infrastructure support and the Ksh3 million jackpot competition for the most improved school, as some of the reasons why Wundanyi constituency recorded outstanding performance.
