Speaking during interdenominational Church Services in Kilifi on Sunday, the DP said that his visits to the Coast are in the spirit of building bridges, an initiative meant to bring Kenyans together.

He also said that since the government and the opposition has made a truce, Kenyans must work together despite their political differences.

Sisi wote ni ndugu moja wa taifa moja, kuna makossa tukifanya Kazi pamoja?(We have agreed to work together despite our political parties because we have decided to shun away divisive, tribal and religious politics. We are all brothers of one nation, is there problem if we work together?)" said Ruto.

This comes after allegations that  Ruto is trying to lure politicians from the Coast to have a strong support base for his 2022 presidential ambition.

His alleged tactics are seen to be bearing fruits as Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, who was also present during the service, announced her full support to DP Ruto.
