Issuing a statement on his Twitter handle, CJ Maraga said they are fine but still undergoing specialised medical examination.

“My wife and I were involved in an accident in Nakuru this morning on our way to Church. We are undergoing medical observation. My driver and aide who were with us are also okay. We thank God for His mercies. Thank you Kenyans for your prayers and concern,” the CJ posted.

Even as this happens, the CJ and his wife Yucabeth Nyaboke have been airlifted to a Nairobi hospital following President Kenyatta's directive as confirmed by the Rift Valley Coordinator Mr Mongo Chimwaga.

The regional boss further confirmed that CJ Maraga sustained minor injuries on the forehead while Yucabeth was in shock following the Saturday morning accident.

The occupants who were in the vehicle were rushed to Nakuru's War Memorial Hospital for first aid and subsequent observations.

At the time of the accident, CJ Maraga was in the company of his wife, his official driver and a bodyguard, all of who are said to be stable. However, the real cause of the accident is yet to be established.
