Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama got the chance to play for Tottenham Hotspurs after two months of battling with injury last nightnight, when he was brought in as substitute in their 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in a 4th round FA Cup tie.
Coincidentally, the last game that Wanyama played for Tottenham before being sidelined due to injury was against Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park, and he played 90 minutes to help spurs win 1-0 in the EPL tie.
Wanyama has been facing tough times and seemed to be struggling to fully recover from the injury.
Kenyan football fans have been wondering how long their captain will stay on the sidelines due to injury.
“It was nice seeing him back and we hope he will fully recover and improve on his consistency in the midfield,” said Timothy Magosh, a football fan in Eldoret.
It has been a bad week for Tottenham though, after they were kicked out of the League Cup on Thursday night by Chelsea.
Kenyan fans will now with no doubt be expecting Wanyama to get more game time in order to improve his form.
Wanyama is expected to lead the Harambee Stars midfield at the African Cup of Nations in Egypt later this year.
