Kesses Member of Parliament Dr Swarup Mishra has hit out at politicians whom he accuses of using 2022 succession politics in the fight against corruption.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Friday, Mishra noted relevant authorities should be left to do their work in the fight against corruption and asked politicians to keep off.
“It's unfortunate that some politicians are politicizing the war on corruption, 2022 politics should not be brought in when we are handling corruption,” said Mishra who also noted that corruption is a menace that should be fought by all Kenyans of goodwill.
“2022 is the next phase but this phase of fighting corruption should not be hijacked in the name of 2022 since it will not unite the country and our people. Our priority now is Kenyans, fight against corruption and not the 2022 succession politics,” he added.
The Jubilee MP also called for the Judiciary to be revisited for it to be effective and time-saving in dealing with corruption cases.
He lamented that most of the cases related to corruption were taking too long in courts.
“We want tougher rules in our Judiciary to punish those individuals involved in corruption," said Mishra.
