According to Keroka traffic police commander Abigail Menjo, riders who have been involved in accidents flees accident scenes even when they won't be blamed.

"Riders should stop escaping from accident scenes when accidents occur because fleeing will hinder police from doing their work. I'm appealing to riders to stop and record statements with police whenever they get involved in road accidents," she noted.

She also urged members of the public to be on high alert when crossing roads to curb unnecessary accidents.

"Careless crossing of roads has also caused unnecessary deaths. Pedestrians need to be more careful when using the road to reduce the number of accidents," said the commander.

Menjo further warned boda boda riders against careless riding saying police manning roadblocks will not spare them.

"Any rider found over speeding will be arrested to face prosecution. The new road rules famously known as 'Michuki rules' must be adhered failure to which offenders will face the law," she added.
