The government through the National Environment Management Authority (Nema) is set to continue demolishing buildings erected on riparian.
According to Neema, the demolitions will return to Kilelelshwa.
Communications officer Evans Nyabuto said the demolitions will bring down some walls that had been left by the owners.
“The demolitions will continue for the week but there are places that if we say that tomorrow we are going to demolish you find hostile people on the ground or they quickly go to court for an injunction so it hampers our operations,” said Mr Nyabuto.
He noted that the Ukay Center demolition will continue on Monday.
Nyabuto added that the authority will prepare a status report on the ongoing demolitions on Monday.
The demolitions started on Monday last week with a Java House coffee outlet, a Shell petrol station and Safe Dose pharmacy being demolished in Kileleshwa.
Speaking on Thursday last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta said that the demolitions will continue. He noted that government officials who gave the approvals will be prosecuted.
Already, a special desk has been established at the DCI office to establish how the buildings were approved.
