Months after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i banned political groupings with radical ideologies, Nyamira Resistance Movement outfit may have after all resurfaced.
The group under a section of youths from Nyamira, mainly allied to opposition ODM, has launched a series of activities similar to those undertaken by Miguna Miguna's NRMKe.
Already, Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has been victim after the group ordered boycott of tax remittances across the county over poor service delivery.
"NRM is strong and nobody will threaten us. If these people cannot develop the county, cannot pay workers, so what are they doing?
"We advise our members from now to resist remitting taxes and we are organising major demonstrations across the county," said Beavon Magare, one of the leaders.
Incidentally, the group is also behind collection of signatures for dissolution of Nyamira County and by Sunday, the petition had garnered over 200 signatures.
On Friday, Nyagarama held impromptu meeting at Miruka market, where traders had implemented the decision by NRM.
"We are fixing a few issues that have dragged us. There is no need to follow that route. Let us always sit and discuss these issues," he defended the county.
Proponents of the wing had warned of demonstrations on Monday but until going to press, Nyamira town remained relatively calm.
