Obado's wife has not been seen in public since her husband arrest and detention in remand prison last month.

She has also been missing in court sessions as Obado fights for his freedom and also to clear his name against the murder charges.

It was expected that Hellen  (Obado's wife) would be appearing in court in solidarity with her husband but that has not been the case.

According to political analyst Peter Ngure, Obado's wife absence in court could be out of shame.

He claims that the murder charges facing her husband are serious and carries a death sentence if proven.

He (the analyst) adds that Obado's wife might have opted to remain silent and not to show up at the courts to avoid public ridicule.

"The murder case against Obado has attracted great public interest and it could be the reason why the governor's wife has remained silent," he said.

The analyst adds that Obado's wife might have opted not to attend court sessions and instead visit him at the remand prison.

He further observed that Obado's wife absence in her husband's court sessions could be a strategy to protect the family name.

"As we speak Obado's family image has been tainted by the murder charges the governor is facing in court," he said.

The analyst, however, observes that whatever the case could be, the embattled Migori governor is still innocent until proven guilty.

"The right to innocence cannot be taken away from any accused person and until the prosecution and the court prove otherwise, the governor and his co-accused remain innocent," he said.

Obado is charged with two murder charges.

He has denied killing  Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.

Obado is remanded at Industrial Area prison pending his bail application ruling on October 24.

Obado has been charged along with two co-accused persons Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero.

The DPP Noordin Haji is opposing the release of the three accused persons on bail on grounds that they could interfere with witnesses.

The DPP also argues that the accused persons are a flight risk and could abscond court if released on bail.
