A study carried out in the United States has revealed that people who are single are at high risk of dying than the obese. Being single is a deadly health risk and experts have warmed affected people about it.
The study, which focused mostly on the effects of loneliness found out that people with a bad social interaction have a 50 per cent increased risk of getting to their grave earlier than expected.
Loneliness and social isolation are very dangerous things that affect adversely the health of a person. It was found out that lonely people have 50 per cent increased the risk of death unlike obese people who have 30 per cent increased risks of death.
“Being connected to others socially is widely considered a fundamental human need, crucial to both well-being and survival,” said Dr Julianne Holt-Lunstad.
Dr Julianne is a professor and also a top author of psychology at Brigham Young University. She said that loneliness makes people feel tortured mentally and physically. The symptoms are displayed when a person falls sick.
In the same study, Dr Julianne Holt-Lunstad found out that loneliness and social isolation increases a person’s risk of premature death.
The research suggested that people should consider making friends and going out to social places, events and meeting friends than being lonely.
