Nyamira County government will expose ghost workers who have been siphoning salaries from the county.
Nyamira County Secretary Eric Onchana said all names of county workers hired legally will be published on Monday, March 11, 2019.
"Names of all people working in Nyamira will be published on Monday. In the list to be released, details such as qualifications, constituency and year of recruitment will be captured," said the secretary in a statement.
Onchana noted that county workers who will not appear in the list will be rendered ghost workers.
The County Secretary is expected to be guided by Human Resource Audit report which was done last year for the new list of county workers to be credible.
This is an effort aimed at knowing if indeed Nyamira County has over 4,000 workers yet the neighboring county Kisii has only 3,230 workers.
Few days ago, the county Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo claimed that there has been ongoing recruitment in the county the claims Governor John Nyagarama dismissed.
According to Nyaribo, county workers more especially enforcement officers and support staff were recruited illegally.
