Deputy President William Ruto has been linked to maize cartels that have led to the frustration of farmers in the Rift Valley.
MPs Joshua Kutuny, Alfred Keter and Sila Tiren said Ruto’s office and people close to him are the ones in the maize scandal where millions were paid to a small clique of people with money meant for farmers.
The three said Ruto should be investigated.
“The DP should be investigated. Why doesn't he want to come and help farmers and why doesn't he want to listen to us. If there are cartels, the president has ordered for a lifestyle audit. Let the audit begin right from the president himself just as he said, the DP and all the way down including me” MP Tiren said.
Kutuny said the DP should stop ‘politicking’ on 2022 and instead address the plight of the farmers in the Rift Valley region.
“All politics is local and we will now play it local. In any case there is nowhere they are going with politics that do not benefit Kenyans,” Kutuny said.
Keter, who has been a harsh critic of the DP, expressed similar sentiments claiming they know the cartels frustrating farmers are in the DP’s office.
