Nyamira Primary School was on Friday hosts of several dignitaries, even though the visit remained unannounced until the last few minutes.
After landing at Nyaigesa Primary School, which was seemingly a planned visit given the reception by students and areas community, DP Ruto's helicopter landed at Nyamira Primary School without prior arrangement.
While his handlers had arrived ready to drive him out, Dr Ruto asked one of the teachers to summon all students for a brief address.
He was joined by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, Vincent Kemosi of North Mugirango and Mr Shadrack Mose of Kitutu Masaba.
"I am happy to be here. It's the second time I am landing in this school that's why I had to make a stopover though unannounced. I want you to work hard."
He went on: "Today I was to take lunch here but due to time constraints, we are unable. Next time, I will stay around a little bit longer."
After that, Dr Ruto gave the school administration some money for lunch. The amount was not disclosed immediately. MPs present also gave out donations.
Dr Ruto attended a fundraiser at Nyamira Catholic after addressing a roadside rally in Nyamira town. He ended his trip in Borabu constituency.
