Last year, Mr Kajwang', a second term lawmaker, was arrested for allegedly administering presidential oath to Raila Odinga, and would be charged for treason later on.

Before his arrest, Mr Kajwang' accused some NASA leaders of allegedly skipping the function deliberately. He administered the oath along with exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna.

“There were problems amongst the NASA principals (referring to Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-K’s Moses Wetangula),” Kajwang recalled in an interview.

However, the job had to be done. A half-smiling Kajwang said, “This thing needed balls and balls shrank that day,” recalling the intrigues behind the dramatic ceremony.

On Sunday, Kajwang' recalled the moment when he administered the oath, besides lauding the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

Further, he castigated Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah for allegedly going against President Uhuru despite coming from his Central Kenya stronghold.

"All faithfuls praise the Lord? I am T. J Kajwang', Raila Odinga's Chief Justice. Infact, the Waititu you're talking about, you should send him to Nairobi, we know him well and we shall deal with him.

"You saw me swearing Raila. However, we later decided to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta. We used to uproot railway but we have since stopped. There is that leader (Kimani Ichungwah), opposing Uhuru. It will be fair if you send him home," he said.

While President Uhuru Kenyatta has often watched against what he calls premature campaigns, Mr Ichungwah is a key figure in Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 campaigns.
