In the poem posted on Itumbi's Facebook page, the Secretary of Digital Innovations and Diaspora Communications noted that Maribe's tribulations will eventually pass, but their friendship will remain still.

"Situations come and go, but our friendship will outlast fake headlines, rumours, false accusations, social media updates, the blog frenzy and even the unfair comments thereafter," he posted.

He encouraged her to soldier on, terming her a storm which cannot be stopped.

"You are a storm, yes you are, I know you cannot be stopped by the dust of outright lies and falsehoods, I await the storm in your name, sweep us all with your transformation," Itumbi's poem read in part.

Maribe and her fiance Joseph Irungu were arrested last month as suspects in the murder of business lady Monica Kimani.

The two have been in custody for close to a month to allow for investigations into the murder.

Last week Maribe and Irungu appeared before High Court Judge James Wakiaga who set the bail hearing for today.
