Embattled Wajir Women Representative Fatuma Gedi now claims that there is a plot by her rivals to kick her out of Parliament.
The MP says that her enemies are determined to taint her political character through malicious and false allegations.
Gedi said that her removal as the Chairperson of the Kenya Women Representatives caucus was politically motivated.
She claimed that she was not consulted before a decision to remove her was reached.
She now claims that some MPs within the caucus are being used to intimidate her politically.
“I was shocked on the removal and as procedure states, I was to be told before the letter was written and sent to the CS," she said in a phone interview on Wednesday.
In a letter to Cabinet Secretary (CS) Public Service and Gender Affairs dated September 19, Kenya Women Representatives caucus Secretary Irene Kasalu said that members had lost confidence in Gedi’s leadership.
Kasalu in the letter further said that members had questioned Gedi’s conduct and service delivery as the chairperson of the caucus group.
The Kitui Women Representative in the letter said that women Reps will have a chance to elect another chairperson.
Gedi is at the center of investigations into allegations that she facilitated the bribing of MPs to shoot down the controversial sugar report.
Gedi has, however, denied bribing MPs to reject the sugar report.
