Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has taken a swipe on Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga, who is keen to succeed Mr Awiti.

"We can't accept outsiders to come around dictating us on what to do. Furthermore they are beneficiaries in what we fight for many years," she said in reference to Wanga's affirmative action seat.

Ms Wanga has been traversing the county but despite her grassroot popularity, those in establishment believe that she's not indigenous.

And in her defense, former ODM  Deputy Director Communications Seth Odongo accused Ms Odhiambo of unfairly attacking Wanga.

"This mentality of an outsider should not be encouraged in Luo Nyanza. It's primitive. You can't judge Wanga on those grounds. All we need is competency," he said.

Some online users now want Ms Odhiambo to equally move to Zimbabwe where she's married to seek a political office just like Wanga.

Governor Awiti is hanging on the thread following a successful petition by Oyugi Magwagwa in lower courts and his fate now hangs on the Supreme Court.
