Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi Rangache is said to have attacked Modester Anyuor who is a human resource officer on Friday at the offices.

According to Siaya County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal, the lawmaker is being sought to record a statement concerning the said allegations.

“It's unfortunate if a leader can storm a national government office and attack a civil servant,” Ole Tialal is quoted by the Nation.

Siaya police commander Ambrose Mwawaka confirmed the incident saying that the MP demanded the personal contacts of Siaya director of Education in charge of the Teachers Service Commission, but Ms. Anyuor told him that procedurally, she was not allowed to give out the contacts.

“The MP then attacked the employee prompting her to report the incident at Siaya Police Station,” Mr. Mwawaka said as quoted by the Nation.

Atandi is serving his first term in office after being elected in 2017.

In August last year, the MP came to near blows with Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Rashid Mohamed at the Kisumu International Airport, after he accused the CS of disrespecting ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.
