President Uhuru Kenyatta’s lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has revealed that former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti gave him a goat as the payment for representing her in the case against Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
Abdullahi said the price he was paid is as little as that of a goat, adding that she is not being funded by corruption cartels as alleged by the second term governor.
He took to social media and posted: “Wavinya brought me a goat as my fees...no third party is paying me millions on her behalf...relax Governor Mutua,” Mr Abdullahi tweeted.
In an interview with a local daily, Mutua claimed that Ndeti was being financed by a section of corrupt leaders in a bid to smoke him out of office.
“In 2013 we defeated her election petition up to the Supreme Court and she was ordered to pay me Sh4 million which she is paying in small installments up to now. How is she represented by seasoned lawyers who are paid over Sh20 million before they even step in court to take up her case,” Mutua questioned.
Mutua has maintained that he won the election and he will still beat Ndeti even if a by-election.
