Sharon was found murdered in a thicket near Oyugis Town, Homabay County, after she went missing following an abduction in Rongo, Migori County on September 3.

Her mother Melida Ouma on Tuesday told the media that the slain beauty will be laid to rest at her grandfather's homestead in Magare village, Homabay County.

She added that her burial ceremony will be graced by pastors from the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church.

Ms Otieno who was seven months pregnant at the time of her death will be buried next to the foetus which has since been buried.

"Pastors and elders from Magare Got Seventh Day Adventist Church will conduct the burial. We shall lay her to rest next to where her foetus was buried," she told the Standard.

Otieno was reportedly abducted alongside Nation Reporter Barack Oduor on the fateful day, before the journalist reportedly jumped out of the speeding vehicle near Nyangweso Market along the Homabay-Kisumu Road

The blame has since landed on Migori Governor Okoth Obado who despite distancing himself from the murder has since admitted having been in a romantic relationship with the deceased and even fathered her child.

He is currently being held at the Industrial Area Prison pending the hearing of his bail application, with several of his associates as well being held over alleged involvement in the murder.
