Angry villagers canned a middle aged man after he beat his wife on Monday in Bomwagamo ward.
Led by Charles Chomba, they claimed that the man, Elvis Nyakoyo has been too violent to his wife, Maurine Bosibori.
“Nyakoyo married Bosibori two years ago and they have been blessed with a girl child. Since then he has been beating her as a drum under unclear reasons.
"On Monday he returned home from work and beat Bosibori on grounds that she took too long to serve him with food,” said Chomba.
Chomba said the woman screamed for help from neighbors who arrived, arrested the man canned the assaulter.
Area assistant chief Richard Makori said the angry neighbors canned the man and warned him against beating his wife again.
“I wish to commend neighbors who took the responsibility to cane the man who has been beating his wife without valid reasons," he said.
He warned the man against repeating to cane his wife saying he is not going to condone men to continue attacking women in his area of administration.
The chief urged Bosibori to report her husband to Nyumba Kumi officials in future in case he attacks her again.
