Garissa Township MP Aden Duale is among experienced politicians in the country.
The Leader of Majority in the National Assembly is also among politicians to watch out in the 2022 general election.
Duale has been critical in President Uhuru Kenyatta's government since 2013.
The vocal politician has been described as an 'engine' in the Jubilee administration especially on National Assembly matters.
According to political analyst Peter Ngure, Duale will have a big say on who succeeds President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming 2022 general election.
The analyst argues that Duale’s aggressiveness as the Leader of Majority in Parliament makes him one of the people who will decide on who takes over from President Kenyatta.
“Duale is one of the people who will decide on who President Uhuru Kenyatta endorses in 2022,” he said.
He observes that the vocal Garissa Township legislator is among few politicians who have the trust of the president.
The Garissa MP is a close ally of DP Ruto and is expected to lead his presidential campaigns in 2022.
Duale, a former ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga ditched ODM and joined DP Ruto’s United Republic Party (URP) in the run up the 2013 general election.
URP later merged with other parties to form the Jubilee Party in the lead-up to the 2017 general election.
DualDuale has been quoted saying that President Kenyatta fully supports DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Duale is however calling on politicians to shun early 2022 campaigns and concentrate on serving Kenyans.
