Muthama says that unless Uhuru is brutal and merciless he will not achieve anything as far as the war on graft and realisation of Big Four agenda is concerned.

The former senator claimed that corruption is rooted in government, adding that the president needs to take more punitive measures.

He said that lifestyle audits alone will not help in eliminating graft adding that top government officials have perfected the art of stealing.

“The President has to devise ways of dealing with corruption if he is serious in the push for his Big four agenda,” he told journalists in Tala town on Sunday.

Muthama said that corruption is likely to cripple  President Kenyatta's agenda and his legacy if he is not careful.

He also advised the president to concentrate on recovering money lost through corruption, adding that arrests and prosecution alone may not help in the fight against graft.

“We need to see the billions being recovered and channelled to development projects because arrests alone are not helping,” he said.

The former senator asked politicians across the divide to support the President in wiping out graft.

He exuded confidence that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti will take the good lead in wiping out graft.
