The 13-year Migori pupil who allegedly impregnated his 15-year-old girlfriend was on Tuesday charged with defilement at a Migori Court.
The minor who appeared in Court alongside the girlfriend failed to take the plea as the prosecution sought more time to investigate the matter.
Suna East Sub County Police Commader Mark Wanjala said the two will be held at Manga Children's home in Kisii for care and protection as police seek to produce more evidence.
"The duo will be remanded at Manga Children's home as the prosecution seeks to provide more evidence in relation to the case," Wanjala said.
The juveniles who hail from Karao were arrested last weekend after the mother of the girl sought police intervention to arrest the boy.
According to police reports, the 15-year-old girl had admitted having sexual relations with the boy before realizing that she was three months pregnant.
The case will be heard on April 9th.
Police are now appealing to parents to offer guidance to their children to help handle the rising cases of teenage pregnancies in the county.
