Maximizing on the sharp corners within the estate, especially Kivumbini 3 and 4 subdivisions (the estate is divided into 1, 2, 3 and 4), which makes it easy to get away in case of a police raid, they find it more safe to operate from here.

Largely made up of local youth, they operate in broad daylight. Residents are now used to the criminal group.

3. Unlicensed businesses

It also boasts of several dens selling khat leaves, alias 'mogoka'.

The traders show up in the evening as darkness falls.

, most of whose owners only show up in the evening with the product on basins.

The businesses which operate on stalls, otherwise known as 'mogoka bases' are equally illegal and lack documentation from the relevant authorities.

The same is the case with the several fish selling stalls and roadside hotels.
