With IEBC slating the election on October 8th, ODM is facing a major test of identifying candidate for the polls.

Already, four former MPs have declared interest, forcing Raila to rescind his initial decision to handpick Ochillo Ayacko, a former Rongo MP and Energy Minister.

Also claiming the stake is another former Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno, who has since reconciled with Mr. Odinga.

Others are John Pesa (Suna East) and Omondi Anyanga (Nyatike), both who served as ODM legislators.

And the Central Committee could now call for nominations following protests from lead candidates who accused the party over its decision to handpick candidate.

It is believed that Raila had settled on Ayacko, who agreed to drop gubernatorial case against Governor Okoth Obado, following epic battle in 2017 elections.

The two were reconciled by Raila early this month during the burial of former Senator Ben Okello.
