The latter who studied at the St Mary's School with some of the biggest names in the nation is a person who worked hard to make it in life.

At St Mary's he met the likes of President Uhuru Kenyatta who was a class ahead, but was lucky enough to study with David Kibaki, son of then Vice President Mwai Kibaki.

It is here that he got the remedy that saved him from the perennial latecomer tag he had earned in school, considering that he had to board two public transport vessels twice each morning from his home in Jericho estate, Nairobi.

It happened that when he visited his friend David Kibaki one day, he found out that they wanted to dispose a motorbike and Bruce didn't take much time to request to have it instead.

“I had never ridden a motorcycle before, but I was not going to admit that and let my luck slip. I can’t really explain how I did it but somehow my trial-and-error worked all the way to Jericho,” he told the Nation in 2014.

This saved him from the every morning hustle, though he again had to cajole his way into getting a place to pack it at a neighboring homestead belonging to Philip Mwikia, a deejay.

“In exchange I offered to help him in manual jobs like delivering equipment and wiring. Instead of paying me for the work I did, he would retain the money for the space I had used to build the shack," he said during the interview.

Its while working with the DJ that he developed love for the entertainment sector, before establishing the Johari Cleff production house.
