Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i says the government will not fund new projects in 2019/20 until the existing ones are completed by all ministeries.
Speaking at Egesa FM on Tuesday, the powerful minister reiterated that the move will improve delivery of services to the people since projects will be done in a systematic manner.
While Matiang'i did not point fingers at any government official, he noted stalled projects like Kemera-Gachuba-Keumbu, Kemera-Magombo-Amabuko and many more in Nyamira, adding that they will be completed in time.
"We are not going to fund new projects. You find that we allocate little resources to the projects and they become difficult to manage. They end up taking several years before completion.
"So as government, we have decided to ensure that all existing projects are done first before moving to the next ones. That is the plan and nobody will disorient it anymore," he added.
Dr Matiang'i was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta to head critical National Development and Communication Cabinet Committee, which supervises and coordinates all government projects.
He said he will not favour Gusii region because he hails from there, instead, he insisted that working for all Kenyans without favour of his key priority in the coming months.
The Interior Minister disputed claims that police officers have been engaging in extrajudicial killings, adding that at times the civil societies organizations are unfair.
